Senses Tickled By Spring

Winter’s cold now swept away
Piles of leaves now raked
Leaving new blades of green behind
An early spring garden of color
Snapdragons and Daylilies
Sprouts and blooms
Heat warms the land
New growth assumes center place
Bandings of greens and whites
Budding gardenias, jasmine, and Easter lilies
Beauteous odors and delicates astound the senses
Green lizards dart up vines
White Ibis aerate the lawn in search of tasty morsels
Baby cardinals flutter first flight
Dragonflies hum merrily
As squirrels scamper to and fore
Gathering acorns left behind by my rake!
