Light Fell Softly

The Light fell sofly in bands of reds, purples, and golds
On the waters it fell mingling with the ocean’s foam on wave crests
Before gliding on down sparkling each ripple
It rested on treetops brightening each leaf and frond
Then sliding on downto the sand
Glittering each granule like diamonds
Warming the small one as she sat digging her castle’s mote on water’s edge
It highlighted the clouds before catching a rideon a great golden red bird
Nestling in its feathers as he folded his wings and dove
Coming to settle next to small one
Quietly she offered him part of her loaf and cheese
And he in turn brightened her space with a song
Coaxing a smile of delight that sparkled in her eyes.

Motion Spun from Stillness

Quiet was the dawn as the wee one began her walk

Slow was the night to fade and the colors to spread

As if the artist of the sky’s canvas

And the poet of the day’s passages were waiting

The wet dew covered blades that lined her path invited her to stray

They tickled and cooled her soles bathing them with droplets

New blooms from the wind sewn wild flowers mingled among the blades

Their scents lightly perfumed the gentle sea breeze

A light mist enveloped her and she opened her mouth to taste the salt

Slowly she twirled as a ballerina’s dance caught in slowness of time’s motion

Stopping at each turn to take in each stroke matching her rythmn to the notes

Now the path from the house ended and the woods lightened into mangroves

Lining the beach by the small pool where birds fished and she waded

When would it start she wondered, she had come, she was ready, they had waited

Only now did inspiration trickle down from on High for He too had waited on her

Slowly not to rush her He began to put the day into motion

The dark blues were washed with pinks as He coaxed the sun to rise and the moon to set

The stars glimnered  as He blew them out one by one

Birds chorus now broke the stillness and peoples now joined her

Casting their nets they would gather each their share of bounty He had sown

Now she too must begin her toils and she skipped to her grandfather’s side

Taking his hand she spilled forth in laughter the treats only given to her

His eyes glissened with small tears of love as he picked her up tenderly hugging her

She was his charge, his alone , his purpose and she kept him young at heart

And he too thanked the Lord who watched them both keeping them safe.

As I Begin This Day

As I begin this day of Sabath

May I begin it ever so slowly not rushing into the midday
May my mind not dwell on battles put to bed in yesterdays
Or be caught up in strifes past that can be undone

May I Be Reminded it is a day of rest
A day of quietly trickling brooks not rushing river rapids

Instead may I linger in the dawn of new awakenings
May I savor the simplicity of the day breaking
As I sip my tea and break my fast with freshly baked bread

May I  first watch, first listen before moving or speaking
As angels paint the skies canvas magestically with brillance
As garden nymphs conduct the morning’s chorus of birds songs
And poppies turn their faces up to the slowly rising sun
While lizards sip the drops of dew on the new blades of green

Letting these clues, blessings and gifts the Lord will reveal
Unravel in my imagination to a deeper understanding of possibilities
So that through creativity these threads may be woven together
Into a throw of purpose and pledge to walk a closer walk with Thee!

AMEN

Tender Light of Glistening Eyes

Night fell eve before leaving time
Small ancient pub over looking wooded silvery lake
Gentle breeze blew
Looking out beyond window's sill
A light rain fell not weeping
No these were happy tears the sky cried
Eyes that glittered and shimmered
Tears of a laughing heart
Tears of Joy
Tears of Disbelief
Tears a tender heart wiped with his cuff
As he held his true love his soulmate
An ancient oak limbs gracefully swayed
Leaves bowing, curtsying, swirling and flirting in time to lakes waters murmuring lapping
A sweet melody conducive to dancing and reflecting
On New bonds recently sealed - On old bonds renewed
A Reflecting Time
A Smiling Time
A Loving Time
A Time of Discovery
A Laughing Time
Tonite was a night one wanted to stay
Not rush into the morrow
But to tarry a while more
Unfathomed love to be discovered
As I remembered all we two had found
These two so new to love would weather the winds of time
They would grow and their love would deepen with these seasons
They Would Make it last
They were there for each other as my Love and I also are
One Could Tell
Two leaves waltzing gently down together
To be swept up once again
Their love dance would continue never ceasing
So many thoughts that couldn't be scribbled down
Words could not do justice for
Music singing Inside One's Soul
A Quiet Time of Jubilation Bubbling Up
An underground spring that would keep renewing itself
This new love would blossom
As ours has had and continues to
Each flower with more beauty depth than the last
Not shouting itself on mountaintops blaring horns
But gently on glistening stalks
Softly as grasses grow
Quietly as oaks sway
The ode this violin spun
Magically would continue in tender lights of sunrise and sunset

Gifts If Only Fleetings Meant To be Shared

For but by the Grace of God you have been given these Gifts as He shaped and sculpted you the artist even before you were born and these gifts were meant to be shared and as you open inner self to others as they open their inner selves to you prose from Him flows through and out of you into others and in turn stanzas, sketches, and shapings from them flow into you.  And as the poetry, music, pictures and sculptures intertwine the art becomes one a singular unique collage to which each contributes exposing a fragment of his most private inner soul lingerings. In the doing each is set free if only for the brief encounter as the expression of the collage completes the circle from God through his people and back to God.

Through Time's Looking Glass

Wedding Poem - Come Love As One

In the setting sun on the shore to the symphony of the Nightingales

Two Trees bend as their fronds dance in the wind

And the Inner Light Speaks – Come Listen As One

She the Queen Palm and He the Willow

Both have endured much but now the calm invades their spaces

And the Inner Light Speaks – Come Trust As One

She once so protective of her young so strong yet so afraid to feel

He a stranger in a new land so far had his seed been blown from its source

And the Inner Light Speaks – Come Hear As One

Their Limbs intertwine and roots reach out to touch

As tendrils seek the same underground spring’s refreshing source

And the Inner Light Speaks – Come Share As One

Now their Love will form a sheltering canopy for her young

Who will venture forth trusting in the morrow

And the Inner Light Speaks – Come Discover As One

Give forth your heart to each other

Stay true to thou vows

Shelter and Strengthen Each Other

And the Inner Light Speaks – Come Love As One
